I've now finished the work of clearing the Glade, which I talked about in this post last month, and I've put up a short video showing how it now looks from the centre.
This picture is taken from the southwest corner, showing the north and south halves. I measured its length and width with a tape measure, and it's an oval that's over 1000 square metres.
The whole circuit of its boundary is marked with the sections of trunk and stacked brash mentioned last time. I'm going to leave cutting the stumps at ground level until they show some regrowth, in the hope of using up nutrients and sugars stored over the winter, and minimising subsequent suckering of new shoots up from the roots.
Finally, I took this video from the centre of the Glade, giving a 360 degree view. You can see a fair bit of snow and frost on the logs which isn't as clear in the photo. As with the previous video at the end of another post, you might get a better version by clicking on the video's own page and selecting Watch in High Quality.
