Saturday was Bridgewood's last planned Event Day of 2009, with half a dozen in attendence and the leaves starting to fall from the trees.
LadyPandoraCP has made a post on IC about the day, with very kind comments about how the site is coming along. EricStanton and PhoenixAmber also brought and put up a gate Eric has made, as something like a St Andrew's Cross but more in keeping with the wood.
In the run up to the Event Day, I finally sorted out a cheap brushcutter which was very effective against the nettles in the Glade. I had been thinking about occassionally hiring a scythe mower (think petrol hedge trimmer, horizontal and on wheels!) but the available ones can't be moved by car. This way at least I'm all set to pounce on the nettles next spring, keep them suppressed and hopefully help the grass and other friendly plants out-do them in two or three seasons.
I'm now starting to think about plans for the winter, and the main job is going to be widening the rest of the Middle and North Rides, to a make a circular route that can be walked and hopefully used for pony carting too.
